And I think I’m Ok with that? Garbage for lap time and probably won’t have the top down as much, but lots of opportunit y to get the tail out and learn how to control that. Maybe I’ll visit the youtubes on how to control/correct a slide. (Suggestions welcome)
It looks bleak, but the rain chance from 7AM to 5PM is only 25%, which isn’t terrible. Good thing (I think) I got the wipers working! Also picked up some rainX.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions for hooning a 1 ton rear drive box in the rain?

Kick the rear out intentionally before you hit the limits of your tires grip. Much less terrifying than having it happen of it’s own accord when you're just getting used to slidey shenanigans

Spring storms are SUPER normal here, so just spring things for us. Does seems like a snow storm this late in the year is odd...

Nice.
I’m thinking that the player needs to work on setting up his corners and choosing better lines.

We had snow on April 1st, which has happened before, but not often. ( I actually broke my wrist sledding off a roof on an April 1st snow storm) WE also had snow mid April which was a WTF thing. Snow in May is only a thing possible in this 2020 shit show

you still have trackdays?... my local track is staying shut till at least june..and tbh im expecting most events still listed on the calendar to end up getting cancelled.. trackdays might squeek by tho as they are pretty small scale
gubment here has decided large events are pretty much verboten till theres a vaccine

I live in FREEDUMBLAND where because we say we’ve defeated COVID that must mean it is true!
But seriously Oklahoma either eliminated or started easing restrictions on May 1st . The track is super motivated to get groups through because they’re hemorrhaging money. Reading between the lines either the track is holding the club to the original agreement (this was planned in early January) OR giving them some incentive to hold it. Either way, with the exception of the safety briefing social distancing is a non-issue. The paddocks are large, spaced out, and entirely outdoors. I’ll be wearing a mask (might even switch to an N95 for the briefing) and keeping clear of people...

Always go with that forecast. Assuming the day isn’t cancelled, there are two possible outcomes:
1) The weather ends up being great, but attendance is wayyyyy down. More open track space for you!
2) It ends up raining anyways. That gives you an opportunity to go around the track at a slower pace and work on both hitting your lines and making smooth control inputs. This practice will help immensely the next time you go in dry conditions. Also, lower attendance so more open track space for you!

here the primary schools are opening up again monday..and hair salons..now appointment only and social distanced
might be able to get a terrace beer again in june....maybe
gyms and indoor eating in september....maybe... football too..without spectators...
large events once theres a vaccine... so...next year..maybe?
anyhoo..in the case of my track.. as the TT and the british superbikes already got cancelled and DTM looks like it may also be they’ve already lost most of this years earning...they may well just figure its cheaper for them to stay shut than to open up for a couple pennies from tiny events

I’ve never seen that, but I’ve heard it referenced many times.
Good?

Yeah I get the impression our track runs pretty lean year-round, but they’re losing about $25k/mo, which is nothing to sneeze at. Our event will be about $4k, so worth opening for the day...

i think just the motogp getting cancelled lost the track about 7 million in revenue lol...
but they apparently have the reserves to eat a year and not be worried about it
but yeah..i agree..that sounds like its worth opening for the day....last thing we need is more tracks going under
